Trackbook Quick-Start Guide
A simple way to plan every song idea, one page at a time.
1. What the Trackbook Does
Think of the Trackbook as your song planner. Each two-page spread has empty boxes that guide you from the first idea to release day. Fill the boxes, and you’ve mapped out a complete track.
2. Before You Begin
- Set a project name. Write it on a sticky note and keep it nearby.
- Schedule focus time. Even 30 minutes with no phone will help you fill a page.
- Grab supplies. Two pens (one dark, one bright for edits) and a pencil for sketches.
3. What’s on Every Page — and How to Use It
| Box on the Page | Why It Matters | What to Write |
|---|---|---|
| Title / Artist / Featured / Producers / Track # | Keeps credits straight so files are named the same way | Lorem Ipsum — Dolor Sit (feat. Amet) |
| Main Concept / Scheme | Summarises the story or mood | “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, dreamy synth vibe…” |
| Cover-Art Idea & Sketch | Helps the music match the visuals | Quick doodle + note like “soft pastel clouds” |
| Hook / Chorus / Bridge | Catches the listener’s ear | Try two hooks; circle the one that sticks |
| Verse (×3 boxes) | Holds the lyrics or rap sections | One box per verse — write first, edit later |
| Video Concept / Videographer / Director | Turns audio into a story on screen | “Hand-held shot of city lights at night” |
| Marketing / Distribution Plan | Gets the song heard | Release date, playlist pitch, TikTok idea, budget notes |
4. Step-by-Step Workflow (Repeat for Every Song)
- Fill the credits. Write the official song title and everyone involved.
- Write the concept. One sentence that explains the theme.
- Sketch the cover. A rough drawing is fine—aim for the vibe.
- Craft the hook. Hum or rap until a line sticks, then jot it down.
- Draft the verses. Free-write; don’t worry about perfect rhyme yet.
- Plan the video. Note one cool scene and who could film it.
- Plan the release. Choose the date and list two promo ideas.
Tip: Use a highlighter to mark boxes that still need work.

6. Staying Organized
- Use colors. One color for ideas, another for edits.
- Take photos. Snap the page after big changes and back it up in the cloud.
- Review weekly. Check your Marketing box to stay on schedule.
7. Final Words
Fill each page with bold ideas and clear plans. By the time every box is complete, you’ll have a song that’s ready for the world—straight from your Trackbook.
